about

The surfers woke and hit the beach. There was an attempt to string together a tune, and then another. And again. And in time we tripped over the finish line quicker than intended. Just as the larger waves began to swell. And the surfers left the beach for the last time.

Track Name: The Surfers Leave
And low are the hands, "Are they cold?"
Yes they're cold and they're still
The lamps that they use and the snow kept falling on the shore
The surfers leave as she continues to bleed
Like a word I could never spell
I was hoping to go and now I know I never will

He ordered them out, that's not what I'm about
And I'm still
I'm following orders, I have to desert her even more
The surfers leave as she continues to bleed
Like a wave upon a whale
I was hoping to go and now I know I never will

And low are the hands, "Are they cold?"
Yes they're cold and they're still
The water was red where they found her head by the shore
The surfers leave as she continues to bleed
Like dark against the pale
I was hoping to go and now I know I never will
Track Name: Long Freeze Of The Afternoon
The long freeze of the afternoon
There wasn't time to write it down
There wasn't anyone around
The long freeze

I'm out on the road with the weight of the snow
The river that froze where you fell in
I'm certain that someone will notice you're gone
It won't be him

The long trees, the shadows that merge
There was no movement at all
There wasn't anyone to call
The long trees

I'm out on the road with the lightness of snow
The river that flows through a break in the cold
Nobody knows you're out there alone
Not even him
Track Name: The Sweater You Wear
My blind horse likes the blue sky
In summertime he sleeps outside
Your old hands haven't shaken
While my old hands have moved a mile

The weather here won't keep you warm
What about me?

The trail I've found will cross the mountain
They brought their maps in case I'm wrong
How many times have I forgotten
How many times you sang along?

The sweater you wear won't keep you warm
What about me?

And it's not hard to be misleading
It's not hard to be alone
And it's not art that I believe in
When my art isn't even done

The further away won't keep you warm
What about me?
Track Name: In A Camper Van
A winter dream, forward and heavy
Wolves stand by me with buffalo
White expanding, eyes locked in snow
The open cities, the lost bungalows

The camera shutters, the longer leaves
The ghosts stand through me, the ghosts will not believe
White expanding, I've locked my land
Exploring the country in a camper van
Track Name: The Abandoned Reel
A finest film still in the dark
Past the age of recovering
Were the ghosts of light still in your head
The ghosts of stillness far behind?

The grand tour still in your head
The abandoned reel so far behind
Track Name: This Western Lift
This western lift, navigation ships
Far off the coast, a time for hanging throats
Wish your surfers to the beach
Wish your captain to use her teeth
Wish your boys to never trip
Wish your compass to lend a tip

This western lift, lighting the palace on fire
Far off the coast, the tower owned the voice
